Aperol was created in 1919 in Padova following an idea of the Brothers Barbieri company. The novelty lies in offering an aperitif with a only 11 degree alcohol content. Aperol is made according to a secret recipe containing bitter orangers, cinchona, gentian, rhubarb and other herbs and roots.
Aperol is a perfect aperitif to drink straight, with ice, or to use in the famous Aperol Spritz, a popular Italian cocktail based on Aperol, Prosecco sparkling wine, and tonic water or soda.
Alcohol consumption can be harmful. Drink moderately.
