Bitters - Herb liqueur

Bitters (amaro in Italian) are flavoured liqueurs, characterized by a bitter taste, obtained from the infusion and the distillation of natural herbs and plants. They can be drunk as aperitif or digestif and are often appreciated for their medicinal properties.
Bitters are also used in the preparation of many cocktails and long drinks.
Italy produces some of the most famous bitters (amari) in the world, such as amaro montenegro, amaro averna, campari, china martini, fernet branca, amaro lucano, amaro ramazzotti, and many others.
