GRAPES
Petit Rouge 70%, 30% of varies grapes deriving from the storical zone of Torrette (Les Toules di Saint-Pierre), as well as from other 5 vineyards of Valle d’Aosta.
SOIL AND EXPOSITION
Morainic and sandy soil, exposed to the south, north, east and west. Altitude - 500/600 metres above the sea level.
VINIFICATION
Fermentation in stainless tanks, long soaking period and everyday repassing of musti (duration - 12 days).
CHARACTERISTICS
Petit Rouge is the most cultivated grape variety in Valle d’Aosta. The vine has a close 'cousin' in the near Vallese region of Switzerland; it is called l'Humagne Rouge.
Presently the wine producers have applied for the DOC geographic quality denomination for the Torrette 70% name, as well as the DOC nomination for the vines of Petit Rouge 100%.
SENSORIAL ANALYSIS
Immediate effect on the nose with fruit and flower bouquet. To the palate it appears simple, fresh, velvety and slightly acid.
